Hi, I have been trying to locate the cabin filter but to no avail. Had seen the diagram posted on 2CarPros, however, I still cannot figure where is the filter.

Can anyone there help me? Possible to provide a photo on the location. Thanks

Hello,

Not all of these cars came equipped with cabin air filter, FYI.

1. Locate the air filter door on the bottom of the lower evaporator housing just outboard of the passenger side of the instrument panel center stack.

2. Slide the air filter door latch toward the rear of the vehicle until it engages the opened stop on the door.

3. Pull the air filter door latch straight downward to disengage it from the air filter opening of the lower evaporator housing.

4. Use your fingers to reach through the air filter opening of the lower evaporator housing far enough to grasp the air filter.

5. Pull the air filter straight down and out of the evaporator housing.

Here is a guide to show you what you are in for when changing the cabin air filter:

Here are some diagrams (below).

Please let us know if you need anything else to get the problem fixed.

Cheers, Ken

I have the general idea on how to locate and change out the cabin air filter on my van. For the life of me, I cannot find the latch, door or release tab that will open the filter compartment and permit the filter to be pulled down for replacement.
Is it possible that despite the reference in the owners manual to the filter replacement process? There really is no filter to change.

Does anybody have a good closeup photo or line drawing of the assembly showing just where to push or pull what?

Is your vehicle equipped with the automatic climate control system? If not, there is no cabin filter. If there is a filter then there will be a visible latch to slide on the filter housing.

Hi,

My van is a, V6, 3.8L.
I would like to change the carbin filter because of the bad smell whenever I turn on the air conditioning.
I tried to look under the passenger cub but did not see the location of the cabin filter.
Would you please show me where and how to change the carbin filter?
Thanks a lot.

Jimmy,

These things seem to end up in all different places. I believe yours is located behind the glove box. Check there and let me know if you find it.

Jacob,

I did try to look under te glove bos but could not find the filter location. I did bring my car to the car repair store but the technician did not find or locate the filter location.
I do not know if there is a change with the 2004 Dodge Grand Caravan about the cabin filter.

Hi.

I just looked in two different places for location. Both sources say:

We are sorry, but there are no results in this parts category for your 2004 Dodge Truck Grand Caravan 2WD.

I do not think you have one.

I need the exact location of this A/C filter (or air cabin filter if different from the A/C filter).

Thank you in advance.

If your van has one, I believe it is behind the glove box.

The cabin air filter access door is located under the instrument panel on the passenger side.

Locate the air filter door on the bottom of the lower front HVAC housing just outboard of the passenger side of the instrument panel center stack.
Slide the air filter door latch toward the rear of the vehicle until it engages the opened stop on the door.
Pull the air filter door straight downward to disengage it from the air filter opening of the HVAC housing.
Use your fingers to reach through the air filter opening of the HVAC housing far enough to grasp the air filter.
Pull the air filter straight down and out of the HVAC housing.

Installation:

Note: The particulate air filter is labeled with "Airflow" and an arrow to indicate air flow direction through the filter. This arrow should always be oriented towards the center of the vehicle. Make sure to properly install the particulate air filter. Failure to properly install the filter will result in the need to replace the filter sooner than required by design.

Install the filter fully upward into the HVAC housing through the air filter opening with the "Airflow" arrow oriented towards the center of the vehicle.
With the latch still positioned against its opened stop, install the air filter door onto the lower HVAC housing air filter opening.
Slide the air filter door latch toward the front of the vehicle until it contacts the closed stop on the door.
