We recently upgraded to Stow & Go Dodge 2005 caravan, cool. So part of our maintenance check for performance is all filters, oil, coolant etc. After a two part fuel filter on 1999 version, we are told the 2005 does not have a seperate unit, it is included in the fuel pump. Huh? What kind of maintenance nightmare are we looking at with this to make sure the pump remains servicable and clean as possible? Any other filters, add ons we should be looking at with this make and model to keep it running well? (We lucked out and have a full cov. 3yr warranty as well.) Does Dodge have a favored spark plug? At one time they would boast their engines should be fueled with standard, not premium gas.

Thanks for all info!

Yes it is true Dodge does not have fuel filters on there cars or trucks anymore unless it is a diesel. Anyway the filters to check or change are the oil filter, air filter and if equipped the cabin air filter. Now as for the life of the fuel pump keep it above a 1/4 tank of fuel. Running it below 1/4 tank will make the pump run warmer and this will make a pump fail earlier then normal. The fuel in the tank is what keeps the pump running cool. There is now maintenance to be done on the fuel pump as it is a complete module unit and non servicable exept replacing when it goes bad. Now you can run seafoam in you gas about once every oil change. IF you have any more question please feel free to ask. Thanks.
