What would cause a spark plug to blow out of the engine? When my husband looked at it, the plugs looked old and crappy, but would that be the only reason? It actually left the threaded part in the engine. He is all freaked out now because it seems that we have had a rash of terrible luck lately with our vehicles.

Hi Plugs can fail and come apart like yours did. Alot to do with plug life now up to 100K miles. The constant shock of detonation and getting hot and cold over and over can cayse plug to come unsealed from base. Replace plugs and you will be good to go.
Hope this helps
Thanks for donate
