Hello, your entire fuel, emissions, and ignition system is constantly monitered for trouble. These come out as codes on a diagnostic computer. Its a scanner used by the dealer, and there are generic scanners available. I would scan your engine, transmission, and body computers for fault codes. It may have an already lean condition and your a/c, your emissions, or something that puts a load on the engine may be coming in so have your fuel pressure tested, you may have a bad o2 sensor.
