I've got a 2002 Doge Caravan and the transmission shift very eratically, also the speedo bounces all over the place. I'm wondering if the speedo has anything to do with the eratic shifting issues? I've replace the output speed sensor with no luck. But if I take off from a stop and I'm able to go threw all the gears well then it's fine but if you slow down and it downshifts hard then I'm stuck in second t'il I shut the engine off. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Output speed sensor has been replaced as per scanner diagnostics and yes the engine light is on. It said something along the lines of improper shifting from first to second, eratic shifting and the was another code along the lines of egr gas vacuum leak? Hope this helps you.

O.K. For a P0700 without a scan tool to diagnose TCM the proscribed action is erase code drive see if code resets.

An Auto zone will do for free. Have them code it then ask to erase then post codes and let me know if it resets. And will go to Plan B
