My dodge is "bucking" on the downshift at 30 mph. It happens more when I am driving faster. Only happens in the city occassionally and always when I step on the break.

Mine did that everytime when slowing down(about at 25-30) and when it was kicking down when passing on the highway my problem was the computer shift points were wrong, took it to a tranny shop and they reset to factory hasnt done it since

Thanks for the info. I had it at the shop this week and the mechanic put a quart of fluid in it for me. No change. I have to bring it back next week and I will be sure to give him that information. Was it expensive to fix?

They hooked it up to their scanner, took about 15 minutes and only charged 25. But I'm sure all shop rates are different. He did tell me that a number of things could of changed it like a jump start or very dead battery, and that if it happens again it could mean there is something else wrong but that was a month ago and so far so good.

Actually I had a dead battery last month. It didn't require a jump though. Wouldn't start one day and then started right up the next. The problem started happening when I left the car wash. There isn't any way anything could have happened there that would cause this is there?

If you washed underneath or under the hood there's always a possibility that a sensor could get moisture, my 94 had the problem of one time it would start and the next time nothing. I found this to be the battery cables needed cleaning and tightening on the battery.
