2001 Dodge Caravan whining

Our '01 grand caravan makes a whining noise at high rpms, regardless of driving or in park. Occasionally when driving, it seems as though the vehicle does not respond to pressing on the accelerator. The noise does not start until the engine warms up, and then only when revving teh accelerator.

Your mechanic will listen with a stethoscope when the noise occurs. Common causes include the power steering pump, low power steering fluid, and worn bearings in the idler pullies.
