My 2000 Dodge Caravan cranks fine in the morning or after long periods of not driving it. The problem exists when it is warmed up. It will spin over for about 5-7 seconds before it starts. When it does start it runs a little rough for a couple of seconds then it clears up and runs fine. Seems like it is starved for fuel when this happens.

Check the fuel pressure and the ignition timing first of all. If the pressure is too low it may vapor lock and not crank till all the vapor gets replaced with fuel.

Ignition timing can cause it to fire too soon and drive back down before starting.
