I own a 2000 dodge caravan with a 3 litre engine and I have my eye on a 2000 grand caravan se with a 3.8 litre engine for parts, I was wondering if it is possible to interchange parts from both vehicles if mine were to break down or if I'm getting myself in a whole heap of trouble to replace parts(engine, transmission and other powertrain parts or chassis. I'm asking this because my friend would give me a great deal on this grand caravan and has assured me that I could drop in the engine or tranny from his to mine without having any trouble regardless of what in have in mine. Thank you very much and i'm looking to hear from you soon. Sebastien

Honestly, the 3.0 engine is from Japan and the 3.8 is American. I think you would run into trouble. I don't have access to the cross reference info you need, but will tell you, you will find many differences that will limit what you can and can not use. As far as body components, they should be fine.
