Filter replacement

Hi, I'm replacing my transmission oil filter. The instructions that came with the new one say that I should place some oil soluble grease between the pan and gasket to help hold it in place when reinstalling the pan. I googled it. Found nothing other than other people wanting to know what it is. I went to Advance Auto Parts. They never heard of it. Any alternatives? Thanks.

I have read those instructions before and I'm pretty sure what they want you to use is a white lithium grease but what I always use and found to work the best is spray adhesive. I always use 3m but it doesn't matter which brand. I spray a thin coat on the gasket and a thin coat on the pan let the sit apart for about 1 min. And then apply the gasket to the pan let it dry for a min or 2 and then bolt it up. Good luck and let me know if you need any additional info.
