1997 Dodge Caravan Service Engine Light On - No other issue

My service engine soon light came on while driving and I detect no other problems.

Is it just a reminder for regular service or does it indicate something more serious?

Can I drive the car safely or do I need to get it checked out asap?

Could be both actually, but I think that it may be something occuring, probably low fluids or a sensor malfunction, best thing to do is take it to autozone or your local parts place for a free computer scan. Most shops and dealers will easily charge you a hundred dollars for this service. If you need additional help, just write back and let me know what the scan codes are and I'll take care of it.
