Our key kept getting stuck in the ignition, but it would come out after jiggling it. Yesterday, it was really stubborn and we finally gave up. A few hours later, our friend managed to get it out. My husband needed to use the car so he put the key back in and the car started up. While driving, the A/C kicked off and the electrical windows wouldn't work. He made it home and turned off the car. The key was stuck again and after it finally came out, my husband put some lubicant in the slot thinking that this would help the situation. When he put the key back in, although the key could turn, the engine didn't turn over. In fact, it made no sound whatsoever. Any ideas? My husband seems to think that the ignition switch needs to be replaced.

You probably just need to replace the lock cylinder, not necessarily the ignition switch. Lock cylinder is the part where you insert the key, whereas the ignition switch is located on the steering column that receives the signal and power from the lock cylinder to start the engine.
