My fuel pump went bad on a 95 Dodge Caravan, I ordered a new fuel pump from Ebay for the 90 new yorker and took that out of it to put in the caravan.
After all said and done. The caravan did not turn on.

I am going to buy the whole assebly from the junkyard, today and put that in all in one piece.

I put the old pump back in without the filter or strainer because it fell apart when taking out. You think that has anything to do with it?

Back to the drawing board! I did learn something and thats what is important. Being lazy can make you work double. Anyways off to the junkyard.

Well you dont want to run a pump without the screen, debris can ruin the pump, or clog a line or filter.

Fyi the metal pipe that is connected to this and down to the tank comes OUT! From the tank, there is a grommet for it where the pipe and fuel tank meet! Found this out AFTER removing the rear tire and some metal like shields abone the rear emergency brake line, dunno.

Lowered the whole fuel tank today, in this heat 115f it was crazy!

Gonna drain it out, since when removing the fuel pump the strainer came completely apart. Note:
Ebay has a pump and strainer for like 25$ from florida, usa. They wouldn't sell me the strainer by itself. The pump is inside the white canister which is the fuel assembly itself. More FYI.I removed the pump from my 90 new yorker and installed in place of the broken fuel pump for the caravan and got it all back in place and it didn't turn on, just cranked. I Don't know, took it out and then tested to 12v in a water bucket and it (the pump from the new yorker) worked! So I don't know. Sent my uncle "the mechanic" to get the whole pump from the junk yard and returned 5 hours later with the wrong pump.
So this might have to wait till Thursday am.

Are you getting power at the pump connector? This will only run for 2-3 seconds when the key is turned on. So test with a friend!

Great advice! Why didn't I think of that! I will check that right now! Will get back.

I am still waiting for my famous uncle "the mechanic" to return with the correct fuel pump. Sent him home with the original this time for interchange at the junk yard.

P.S> you might be thinking why HE isn't doing this. Well he is old, run down from bathing in the HOLY water, if you know what I mean.

And, he might be skimming some money of this fuel pump purchase. Oh well. I don't have a car and couldn't go to the junkyard so I guess s/h charges are ok :)
