Engine Cooling problem
1994 Dodge Caravan 6 cyl All Wheel Drive Automatic 240+ miles

Hello I was driving down the road today and the heat turned cold, then the lights dimmed, after the the temp went up also the battery light. We drove less then 2 mi back home to the drive way. Some antifreeze leaked the belt fell off. Help im in minnesota with the cold blizzard and need some questions answere before I tow it and for work tomorrow. Thanks much

Sounds like you need to get that belt replaced. It was probably slipping or already off mostly before you noticed it at your home. This would be the reason for the dimming lights and overheating, as without the belt, the alternator and water pump along with a few other components have no way to work. Replace belt, check coolant for proper level and I think you will be good to go.

Hello, yea the lights and all dimmed and the heating got cold. So when we got home my fiance checked the belt and is off.

Yes, I read that correctly already. Thank you though. As stated in previous message, I suggest replacing the belt which came off with a new one. Also check coolant level. The belt should solve your issues.
