1997 Dodge Avenger 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic 219k miles

When I turn the key over the engine wants to start but wont fire. I don't have a spark but I smell gas. I've replaced the distributor cap and rotor but still nothing. I may have the firing order wrong, but im pretty sure I put the wires on correctly. If someone could let me know what else it could be and maybe a diagram of the firing order would be appreciated as well.

My info shows this for your firing order. Where applicable, check mil codes. To check mil codes, you turn the key till the dash lites come on, no further, cycle the key, on--off, on--off, on, the mil starts flashing, you count the flashes to get the codes. Your looking for two digit codes. Do you have primary voltage at the coil, black wire with red tracer, engine cranking?
