1995 Dodge Avenger alternator or battery

I have a 95 dodge advenger just replaced the battery and alternator but the battery light in the car still comes on what should I check for?

Check for good clean and tight connecions at the battery cable ends.

IF good check the alternater output. I think this is the problem area based on faulty alternaters off the shelf.
