Transmission problem
1995 Dodge Avenger 6 cyl Front Wheel Drive Automatic

'Hi, I have a 1995 dodge avenger 4 cyl, had a bad motor in it so I put a used one it it last week, just got it done today runs good but will not go in to gear will not drive it will shift in to all gears but will not go, all gears are like neutral? Park is aok, need your help.

Hi there, is the torque converter bolted up is the enough oil in the system?

Yes all tight and oil is aok, when I was puting bolts in the fly wheel and torque convertor it was hard to turn fly and convertor to start bolts, you think I may have a bind in side, I was told I may not have it align, but never took out convertor when I had motor out.

HI there,

the converter should have been very easy to turn to align, if it was hard against the drive plate, it may have come out of the pump drive and by forcing it you may have damaged something, best to check for trans oil pressure first.

No pressure, took off 1 of the trans cooler lines and 0 pressure, pull the trans out and fix or best to buy used trans.

Pull the trans and drop out the torque converter, check the pump drive first.
