My battery grounded to hood and now the car starts but shuts off when hit the brake pedal. All make gauges go wack when I hit the brake pedal.

Test and/or replace the battery.
Replace both battery cables and terminals. Clean off both attachment surfaces.
Down the road. I hope you haven't been waiting too long for a response. Good luck either way.
