Will be installing a DOD delete kit just wondering if there's anything else you'd recommend changing while doing so like maybe the push rods, timing chain, oil pump etc due to the age and mileage of the vehicle.

So are you doing engine work are just installing the kit? If it is just the DOD kit:

ECM tune / programming
Absolutely required to turn off DOD/AFM in the ECU after hardware delete. Otherwise it will try to command AFM and damage the engine.

Fresh oil & filter + break-in oil
To protect new lifters/cam.

Coolant flush & thermostat (optional) Good time to do general maintenance with the engine drained.

If you are doing engine work I would check the camshaft lobes and lifters, is the engine making noise? If so can you please upload a short video of the engine running from under the hood? That way I can tell what is wrong.

Hi Ken you're actually the one who helped me identify the issue for the lifter failure due to the afm/dod system. Will be ordering my dod delete kit soon and like I said previously is there anything else I should replace while doing so? It's been a few weeks since asking about it in a different question and you said it would be a good idea to go this route

Yep, that sounds right. So you will need to take the engine apart for inspection and then go from there, you might need a new camshaft FYI. If the engine has 247k on it you might want to think about a rebuilt unit. Here is a video series that can help
