Do the 8.8 differential need limited slip additive? Or how do I know I need it?

Hi,
The 8.8" can be either locking or non-locking. The locking does require an additive. If that is what you have, add 4oz of friction modifier XL-3. I would actually suggest using it regardless.
If you want, I attached a pic below showing how to identify the differential.
Let me know if this helps.
