Hello, just wanted to ask your opinion regarding my brake issues. I noticed the issue when reversing out of my garage that the brakes don't work well but after a bit of driving they appear normal but sometimes it feels a bit heavy. I've been reading that it could be the brake booster. I have 2 year old rotors and pads, so I don't believe its that.
Long story short, my vehicle has an extended warranty on the brake booster, bulletin: 13N02. I just wanted to know if this is a symptom of a failing brake booster or master cylinder? The vehicle will be looked at the dealer but I want to make sure they don't blame it on something else, replacing everything like maniacs.
I tested the pedal myself, and I did hear some hissing noises, see video attached. Thanks for your help!

The video did not attach but if you are hearing a hissing noise and notice some lack of stopping power then this is normally a booster issue.

You may just have a leak in a booster vacuum line so we can use this guide to try and check for a leak. This booster is run off manifold vacuum so it should raise the RPM when you find the leak.

Below is the test from the manual that will help but this is pretty general.

However, if you have a warranty on the booster I would take it in unless you find an obvious issue with this.

Please let us know if you have questions or what happens with this. Thanks

Hi KASEKENNY1, I uploaded my video again in my reply hopefully users can see it. The dealer confirmed that it was the booster and replaced it under extended warranty 13N02. https://ford.oemdtc.com/2280/13n02-extended-warranty-coverage-on-brake-booster-2010-2013-ford-edge-lincoln-mkx
Brakes are working normally. thanks for your input!
