I need a set of tires and an oil change, and I truly could use a new battery. Although. Husband can do it, every website has something different in reference to price, size, etc. I do not want to spend a couple hundred dollars just for an oil change, or outrageous prices on anything else that my truck needs whether it be maintenance or something that needs to be fixed, on a truck that I drive maybe once a week 10 miles round way trip picking my son from school. So I guess my questions are: I know they need synthetic. Just simple synthetic will work? OrDo I need premium synthetic? And what exact oil does it take and does it only take that exact kind? For the batteries some sites say H6 say H5 and say 47 something say 48 I don’t understand any of the lingo as it is and I’m very confused. If you could clear that up, it would be helpful. Also, with the tires I do not want to spend $200 a tire, in fact, I would love to be able to just get something that’s lightly used or even go to like a you pull it close to me although I thought I had checked, I’m not quite sure... Can you please lead me in the direction of which sizes and what types of all etc. That I need to be leaning towards or if there’s a website that will tell me and or if there’s discounted you pull it online or close to me I’m in Central in the right in the middle of Louisiana. My ZIP Code is 71360 but I’ll travel as far as 50 miles if it means saving me a bunch of money thanks so much. I really appreciate this. I’ll try to donate something to y’all’s fund as soon as my taxes come in because it seems like I’m gonna be using y’all a little bit more than I ever would. I have believed I’d be using a site like y’all very useful. One more thing is there any tips or tricks that I should know about Atlas’s especially the 2018’s, that would help me in anyway, or maybe that I could find very useful in helping to keep it running and maybe even more so run better? Thanks again.

Hello,

Dealerships and tire shops absolutely love to overcharge for “European vehicle service.” The oil you need to use is:

5W-40 Full Synthetic - 6.3 quarts

Which you can get at Costco or Amazon for a good price.

Good affordable options:

Mobil 1 FS 0W-40 (Walmart favorite)
Castrol Edge 5W-40 European Formula
Valvoline European Vehicle 5W-40
Liqui Moly Leichtlauf 5W-40 (German brand, still affordable)

Price range: $25-$35 for 5-quart jug at Walmart/AutoZone

Oil filter are about $14.00 so, if you do the job yourself you can save. Here is how to raise the car up so you can change the oil.

I included the drain plug and oil filter location in the images below and this video will show you the steps on a similar VW which the steps are the same.
