My 2000 Leganza cdx has a small problem with starting. After replacing the timing belt, the engine will turnover but will not fire. I sprayed car starter in the throttle body and it seems like it is close to firing, but still no dice. A friend who is a mechanic tested the engine for compression and said all cylinders are good. Dont know what it could possibly be. The car has been sitting for about 3 months, so could the fuel system be an issue or what. I think that it at least turns over is a good sign, could it be something major if it turns over? Not the most mechanically inclined but have learned a lot reading and studying. Thanks for any help, just trying to have a car to drive.

If you sprayed the throttle body and still not firing, you can rule out fuel problem.

Do you have spark? Re-check all your timing marks and make sure that they are all lined up. Also check if the cam and crankshaft sensors are installed correctly.
