I have just bought a very cheap daewoo and the water level is always dropping. Steam comes on inside of windscreen when the heater is on.
I can get by without the heater, how do I disconnect it?

Your heater core is the culprit here. It is located inside of dash, however you can bypass the hoses from under the hood near the firewall. There will be two hoses leading to the heater core through the firewall under hood. Disconnect the two hoses from the heater core on the firewall and join them together with another hose. They are not always the same size hoses so just keep in mind reducer fittings. Also recommend using hose clamps. Just don't forget about the heater core bypass if you have cold season in your location.
