Having problems with getting the transaxle to come all the way out from the passengers side front. Got most out ball to the joint and transaxle came out but the cv half shaft and boot remains connected to the gear box can't get the rest out, have tried all kinds of things, went and rented the slidehammer and CV u shaped plate to run rod to hammer through and still not budging, PLEASE HELP. THANK U SO MUCH any ideas are welcome at this point.P.S. Does the transition need to be in neutral there's a square rod in the middle of the gearbox, don't know if its having a bearing on things(pun). Any thoughts

It is hard to know for sure what is going to help so I think the best thing that will help is to get some pictures of what the transmission looks like now and maybe we will see what it is hanging up on.

One important thing is to make sure you remove the torque converter bolts or they will not come out at all.

As for the CV axle, maybe this guide will help:

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/replace-cv-axle

However, I am attaching the entire process from the manual on how to remove the transmission which may help with you picking out if you are missing something.

Please run through this and let us know what questions you have or if you can get some pictures.
