There is a replacement kit by motorcraft for the cruise deactivation switch and harness. The problem is the new harness that connects to the switch has a plug at both ends. The old harness was spliced into a bunch of wires and is taped. Do you have to cut the plug opposite the switch off and splice it in to the old harness?

We only have factory wiring diagrams not one for what you have there should have been instructions on what wire goes where and whether or not you have to splice wires into the old harness. Brake switch is the deactivation. You might contact a ford dealer as they install that stuff all the time we cannot get to that particular part of the ford site to either get the diagram to send to you or give advise on this.
