I am trying to replace the crankshaft sensor on a 1.4 automatic Corsa design. I cannot locate the sensor. Internet and manual sources say rear of engine near bell housing but it’s not there. There is a sensor on the front below the oil filter, could this be it?
Help much appreciated.

It says the crankshaft sensor is near the oil filter. The crankshaft sensor is mounted on the rear of the engine block, below the intake manifold, and just above the oil filter housing. Check out the images (below). Let us know if you need anything else.

I eventually found it as you say under and slightly left of the oil filter but on the front not rear of the engine.
