Crankshaft pulley misaligned with all pulleys?

Hello, I would be so grateful and appreciate any advice you got on this subject. I recently bought this vehicle unaware of this problem because it wasn't noticeable until I replaced the belt, because the belt on it was ripped, I thought it was the A/C pulley misaligned. So, I bought a brand new A/C pulley clutch kit and I got it installed and everything looked great but after seeing all pulleys were aligned except for the Crankshaft pulley, it was obvious it's the crankshaft pulley, it is about ⅛ to ¼ off. Needing to come forward in order to align with all the other pulleys, belt will go in nicely in place, but as soon you crankshaft it up it jumps partly off but still on. Its needing to come about ⅛ to ¼ " froward. My question is, do I get another crankshaft pulley and inspect it and replace it or may I have a seal leak for it to travel back ⅛-¼. Crankshaft pulley is currently on the car and hasn't been taken off and I am aware of the horrors of taking off a crankshaft pulley with heat/torch and 50mm pulley tool and using chemicals. I'm at moment like a deer in headlights so please help me out it would be nice to get this situation troubleshoot and resolved as I'm inexperienced in the world of pulleys.

Hi,

Is it too far in or out? Have you checked to see if there is excessive endplay in the crankshaft itself?

Grab the pulley and see if you can move it in and out at all? I'm questioning if there is excessive play in the thrust bearings on the crankshaft. The pulley itself really shouldn't change. I know when they are reinstalled, it should be done with a wrench and not an impact. That can cause issues.

Check for end play and let me know what you find.

Last time I was under the car it was fine. Still no play back n forth it was still, it looks like it's been pushed back.

I ordered a special impact 19mm socket and also a pulley tool 50mm it should be here by Wednesday or Monday.

Hi,

I went through the directions and there really wasn't anything out of the ordinary when installing. The only thing that stood out was not to use an impact when installing. Maybe someone beat it on with an impact and it pulled in further than it should be. Also, I noticed that the torque specs are different if you use the original bolt or a new one. They may have got the wrong info on that.

I attached the directions below for the removal and installation of the pulley. Take a look through them and let me know if you have questions.

Thank you for all the pics and information, got to inspect the old crankshaft pulley and it seemed fine compared to the new one. I decided to go ahead install it anyway and I still got the same problem belt is still running off crankshaft pulley by � and there's only 3 more pulley that could be it, water pump pulley, and a free pulley by itself and the belt tensioner pulley. I'm starting to think it's the belt tensioner pulley (possibly)and I have noticed belt starts to pull off only on these pulleys, crankshaft pulley and belt tensioner pulley and water pump pulley. I stripped the belt tensioner pulley 2 � weeks ago about so it might take me awhile to come back on here, but I will keep you posted.
