In an earlier question, I was told that the crankshaft position sensor was located behind the starter on a 1996 Tahoe 5.7 vortex.
Well I took my starter out and did not find CPS.
My question is where is my CPS located?

Yeah I know. It looks like it is on the left side of the engine next to the coil pack, bolted onto the block. I will try to see if I can find any other information later on.

This one makes more sense to me. It is where most cars have their crankshaft position sensors. It is right in behind the crank pulley, around the 7 o'clock position. I do not think that you should need to take the crank pulley off either. Does that help?

The crank pulley is the big one. Should be low down and in the middle.
