It is a 1992 Winnebago brave motor home. Some times starts, sometimes cranks but does not start. There is spark to every spark plug, there is good fuel pressure (new fuel pump). The times when does not start it sounds like there is no compression or like is out of timing (louder and faster sound when cranking.)

Question: Do this motor has a crankshaft position sensor? Vehicle chassis is an F53 with a 7.5 engine fuel injection auto transmission. When it does start the motor shakes and misses an throws a little black smoke through the exhaust. Thank you in advance for any help.

This does not show a crank sensor so it probably has a distributor. As it starts sometimes get a spray bottle with water and start the RV then spray water around to p of dist/coil area see if you see any sparks. What may be happening is due to sitting long periods it may be getting wet in dist cap/coil area not starting. Then also check for a timing chain problem by lining up #1 either in cap or cylinder and seeing where crank balancer lines up with 0 or not.

Thank you for your quick response HMA, I did the spray water deal with no visible sparks, I will do top dead center on #1 piston and rotor tomorrow after work and see what the results are. I will keep you posted on my results. Thanks again for your help.
