It is mounted on the front side of the bell housing area about half way down above the differential cover. It reads off of the sensor ring mounted to the ring gear on the rear of the engine. What is the problem you have?

I would check the sensor wiring and the sensor. You would need a meter to check for the 5 volt bias voltage on pin one, then use it to test the center pin for ground. Basically if the meter reads 5-8 volts across pins 1 and 2 the power to it should be okay. The camshaft sensor shares the 5-8 volt and ground so if you lack either one at the crank sensor, you can check the cam sensor for them. If the 5-8 volt is missing then you have an issue at or in the power-train control module.
