My car struggles to start when it is hot. Can crank sensor be cleaned and put it back to function again?

No when the sensors fail they need to be replaced. So when it does not start you lose spark? Because if the sensor was failing you would loose spark. When it is hard to start do you ever have to hold the gas pedal all the way to the floor to start it?
