Hey guys, it all started when my girlfriend was going to the store and came out and would hardly start. She had pulled over because it wouldn't go above 5 miles an hour. The ETS light was flashing, so we go it home and parked. I ran a test on it refer to Pic 1 and changed the crank sensor it and it started right up. Went to test drive it and the check engine light came on and I took it back home and it started acting like it didn't want to start. So, I had unplugged the circuit wires to the crank sensor the throttle position sensor and the cam sensor and cleaned the connections it stated running better, but still had all these codes. I checked the wiring harness no cuts or blemishes, but I took my multi meter and checked the voltage no crank to the crank sensor and got 5.7 volts. I don't know what is going on. Any help?

Hi,

Wow, that's a lot. Here is what I need you to try: Reconnect everything but the air intake temperature sensor (AIT). Clear the codes and see if it runs better and if the codes return.

I attached a pic of it below to help locate it. I'm suggesting this because you have a misfire issue. Yes, the CKP could cause that, but the CKP wouldn't set the AIT code. If the AIT is bad, it can cause a misfire.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Hi Joe, thanks for responding after a lot of fiddling and hunting I finally found out that my intake manifold gasket had been blown in a few places and was causing everything not to read right. I had literally gone through every option I could think of but one point I had it started and I could hear a rough value leak. I had picked up some brake clean and had started spraying it around and came to the conclusion that almost all across the top of the manifold the gasket was blown. How I didn't know this before I don't know, but I had replaced that the crank sensor and battery.

Hi,

That can certainly cause issues. Thanks for the update. Also, I don't know if you need them, but I attached the removal and replacement directions below for you. If nothing else, it provides torque sequence and specifications.

I hope this helps. If you have a chance, let me know if this takes care of the issues.

Take care,

Joe
