Began as intermittent problem would shut off randomly but start back up after setting. Scan tool will not communicate. I verified powers and grounds at the PCM (Pins C1 2, 22 and 31, 32) and load tested the circuits. I verified that there is a 5V reference. I tried unplugging all the sensors on the 5V reference circuit and cycling the key with no change. A new PCM was ordered and still no change.

Hi,

When you replaced the PCM, did you load the VIN? Was the PIN code entered for this vehicle?

Take a look at the pic below and let me know if this was done.

Take care,

Joe

It was ordered from a place that preprograms them. I found the problem I believe. I installed the old computer that I had sent off for repair (that was a nightmare in itself) got it back with a large hole cut in the back with no real tests done to it. Anyway, I thought it might be a program issue. With the old one plugged in I heard all the relays click finally but it quickly went back to no bus. I pushed on the computer chip that was exposed by the hole cut in it and heard the relays click again. Got it to start and when I tapped on the chip again it died. Installed the new one again and pressed in the area that that chip would be, and it made the relays click. I put a small c clamp on it and tightened it until I heard the relays activate and it will start and run. Removed c clamp and it does. Going to contact the place I got the new PCM from and go from there.

They sent the old one back to you cut open? Wow! It sounds like they knew where to look but I have no idea why they cut a hole in it.

Let me know how things turn out for you.

There was a lot of miscommunications on their part. A friend of mine said it sounds like they knew what they needed to fix if they cut that hole but for some reason, they just sent it back. Will update when I get a for sure fix.
