Use to be a daily driver, then parked it an had sat for a year. Well, I removed the old gas replaced it with fresh gas. Crank no start. So I tried to use starting fluid . Nothing. I checked spark first then fuel I was not getting. Fuel to fuel rail. So I pulled fuel pump . Replace it cleaned fuel pump assembly best I could . Once installed try again crank no start but I realized I was not hearing pump kick on to prim the motor . So I check all the relays fuses got good voltage tried again nothing. So then I look at the distributor. Check fire order check plugs wires router had a little wear replaced it . Then I got a pop then a sputter. Then it ran. So was stoked . I push on gas it would cut out kinda bog down but it would rev up. I go to drive. And soon as I try to take off it dies. So I do the process over again. And I got nothing will not start just crank I had a friend notice it was jumping a spark under the distributor to the mount bracket . So finally I got my hands on an obd2 code reader. I run it. Tells me that. It's the camshaft potion sensor. Or single sensor bank 1. So I I try to figure out the location. And my year model car has the Mitsubishi. 3.0 and and any time I searched for 2002 Chrysler Sebring coupe it generally brings me to the convertible which is not the same and trying to find the location I have to search for Mitsubishi eclipse to figure out where the proper spot or location of what I'm trying to fix so I happen to acquire a salvaged part which I believe was the camshaft position sensor. So I replaced the distributor cap the rotor and all the way down to the camshaft and I did this cranked it and it fired it ran. I turned it off started it again it ran and then I put gas in it to drive it go to crank it and does not start. Someone told me that it could be the crankshaft position sensor. I ordered the part replace it and and still when I run the OBD2 it's still pops up as the camshaft position sensor or single sensor bank a lot 1. And I noticed when I had my car on accessory the odometer was rising in miles. I'm confused. Anyway you can help me please please please?

Hello,

A couple questions.

First, can you give me the code numbers so I can look them up? There are several codes for each sensor so I need to know which one you're getting.

Second, where was the car store for a year? In garage? On pavement? On dirt? Outside?

The cam sensor in in the back of the cylinder head on a 2.4 and in the front on a 2.7. I have no information for a 3.0. Here are the instructions for the 2.7 below.

A bad cam sensor will give you the issues you describe.

Let me know if this helps you out.
