Hey guys, got a no start still on the vehicle listed above. Have spark, injector pulse, but fuel pump not turning in fuel pump fuse and relay okay. Security light stays on after bulb check. My question, is this a anti theft or a fuel pump problem?

Hello again guys. So no voltage to fuel pump fuse when cranking, so determined it must be antitheft (security). There are 3 fuel lines coming from the pump, so I'm pretty sure it is a return fuel system. So I am just going to run a hot wire off a fuse that is hot in run/start back to the fuel pump and another to a known good ground for the fuel pump negative. That should bypass the antitheft, but I need the engine management wiring diagrams, please, so I can get a good fuse to tap and know the fuel pump wires. Thank you for your time. I miss you guys. Thank you.

Hi,

The idea that the security light is on leads me to believe that is the cause. Try this. Turn the key to the run position for approximately 10 minutes. See if the security light goes off. If it does, see if it will start.

As far as the schematics, I attached the entire powertrain/engine control set of schematics. I had to cut them in half to make them readable. I did overlap them so you can follow them.

Let me know what you find or if you have other questions.

Take care and God Bless,

Joe

Hi Jacob and Nickolaus. Okay, so what I have going on here is no injector pulse. I have spark and fuel pressure, crank but no start. Pulled a spark plugs and it's dry as a popcorn fart. When I got the car the person before me had switched out the PCM. I replaced the OEM one. Is there a relearn procedure or is it fried? I do not have or have access to any noid lights. Thank you.

Hi again. I have a stupid question. Does the CKP go to the PCM and the from the PCM to ICM or does it go straight to the ICM? If it does go to the PCM could I get the wire colors and pin location on the connector please? Thank you

Hi,

By accident, I attached the wrong schematics. Ignore the first six pics. Start at number 7. I was unable to delete the first 6 pics. Sorry for the confusion.

No problem. As far as the crankshaft position sensor, it first goes to the PCM. I have attached the entire schematic for powertrain management. IF you look at the first pic, I highlighted the CKP and where it goes.

Note, I cut each pic in half so they are more readable to you. I did overlap them so you can follow them easier. Also, here is a link you may find helpful:

I hope this helps. Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,

Joe

Thanks for wiring diagrams. How does the security/immobilizer work on this car. With the ignition lock cylinder turned to the "run" position you can pull the key out. I have a feeling that the PCM isn't recognizing the key. I am wondering if this is a resistance type immobilizer since Saturn's are GM products. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Hi,

First, I attached two pics below of the anti-theft wiring schematic. If you look toward the bottom of the second pic, I circled the passlock sensor. It is on the ignition lock cylinder. The thing is, the key coming out usually indicates the tumbler itself is worn or the key is. I wouldn't think it would indicate a passlock issue, but anything is possible.

Take a look through the schematic. I had to cut it in half to make it readable for you. I did overlap the two pics so you can follow them.

Let me know if that helps.

Joe

Hi.

If you look above, it shows the powertrain management schematics. Is that what you needed? The PCM and DLC are included in those schematics.

Let me know.

I can't find the DLC on there. It's strange, the DLC has pin 4 and 5 (grounds), pin 16(batt+), and pin 2(data+), but pin 10 is empty. Is that normal or should there be the data- wire in pin 10 of the DLC?

Yep. That's normal. See the attached pic 1 below. Pics 2 and 3 show the wiring for the DLC.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,
Joe
