Hi there. The stock tires my car came with are 225/45/17. I bought some new rubbers on bigger rims that are 225/40/18. These are currently on my car and according to an online tote size calculator this size difference should be fine. The recommended tire pressure Under my gas cap says 30 psi in the front and 35 PSI in the back and add five psi for driving at speeds faster than 60 mph. The max PSI on my old tires was 51 (I think) on the sidewall and the new tires max PSI on the side wall is 49. I’m not sure what pressure in my tires should be set at as the recommended amounts are for the stock tires. I believe I have them set at 35 all the way around right now. Thank you!

Welcome to 2CarPros.

The manufacturer's recommendation still applies in this case. However, if you have them all set at 35, it shouldn't hurt anything.

Let me know if you have other questions.

Take care,
joe
