Cooling system trouble codes

On the dashboard screen it says to check coolant level. I connected the scanner to check for any dtc's. One dtc appeared saying thermostat is struck but below that it says "dtc status jot present". I want to know whether there's any problem with it.

Hi,

Can you take a picture of the screen where you are seeing this? My first thought is the scan tool can't properly read the code if it is pending. In other words I suspect this is a scan tool issue.

As for your issue, is the coolant level low? Normally a stuck open thermostat won't cause the coolant level drop to the point it turns the light on. However, if it was already low just not to trip the sensor, then the thermostat sticks, I can see how it may pull more coolant from the reservoir.
