Hi. So. I have the vehicle listed above 2.2 hdi (4hx). One day I let the car run for like 5 to 6 minutes after I drove some time then I've seen my odometer going over 90° C and I realized the fan doesn't kick in. The next day I've changed the thermostat and I cleaned the connectors of the relays. And then the gauge temperature doesn't rise at all and on the screen of the car says "engine water temperature too high" even if the car is cold. I've changed the sensor, I've checked the wire from the sensor to the ECU and it's okay. And some Peugeot dealers are pretty far from me. Can you help me with an idea?

Unfortunately we don't have a manual on this vehicle so I can't give specifics but more then likely you have an issue with the ECU based on what you have done so far. What we need to do is hook up a scan tool that is capable of monitoring the live data so that we can see what the sensor is saying in the ECU. More then likely the sensor is reading properly but the ECU is malfunctioning and not sending out the proper commands based on that information.

Let me know if you have questions and I will try to explain things differently. Thanks

Hi and thank you for the respond I really appreciate it. I've search the car with a scan tool but its a pretty "bad" one. And I've seen something like TP (and after says Celsius but C and that sign I can put it cause I'm on the pc) and says 0.0 and I think this is it. Maybe I can send you a photo to see if I'm wrong or not. If the problem its the ECU can I just buy a used one and put it on and that's all or it needs to be cloned or something? Again really helping me thank you very much. Have a nice day.

Yes. You can get a picture of it and that will help because TP normally means throttle position and it would be in position degrees and not temperature degrees. I imagine the scan tool put a C there for Celsius but it is supposed to be position degrees. So if you were not pressing the accelerator that would make sense why this was 0.0.

Try monitoring this again and pressure the accelerator pedal and see if it changes. If it does then the number is probably correct but the measurement is just wrong. Does that make sense?

As for if you can get a used ECU, that I just don't know. I don't have a manual on this vehicle so I can't tell what is required. This is something that you may be able to just call a dealer and ask them and they will be able to tell you.

Okay, so if I'm pressing the acceleration nothing changes. I'm going to put a picture of with in some hours, so you can understand better.
