Cooling fan runs when engine is off

Engine was off three to four hours, fan did not stop, ran battery down. I replaced thermostat but that did not work. Is fan relay the most likely problem?

My best guess would be a bad cooling fan relay (the thing that turns the fan on and off). If it got stuck, it would just keep running until the battery was drained. It appears to be a common problem. It is located apparently under the air cleaner box. Once that box is out, it is a simple job really. I will include a picture to aid you.
