After setting in sun all day the top will travel just fine to the trunk and back. But the trunk will not close. After 30-45 minutes the trunk will close. Seems work okay first thing in the morning. No error message just a ding sound. The fluid level is good in the pump. Maybe limit switch or wiring?

Yeah. You are probably right that it is a switch issue but the way we need to confirm this is to monitor the top positions with a scan tool while the top is moving but most people don't have a tool that can do that.

So let's start with checking for codes as if there is a chime then there is most likely a code that goes with that.

https://www.2carpros.com/articles/checking-a-service-engine-soon-or-check-engine-light-on-or-flashing

These codes will not turn the check engine light on so we are going to have to check them to find it. It should be a code that starts with a B.

Worst case, I suspect the top or top mechanism is warping and binding when it reaches this point.

Let us know if you have one and we can go from there. Thanks

All I have is an 0DBN 2 scanner and it shows no fault codes. I will start looking at wiring. Do you have access to a wiring print?
Thanks for the help.

I am attaching all the wiring diagrams. I would suggest starting with checking voltage from the switch when this is happening to find out if the switch is even operating.

Then work through the system to the motor.
