I have on the vehicle listed above (Honda motor) is blowing coil packs constantly. Does anyone know what could be causing this?Truck had all the original packs in it up to about 85,000 then 2 went on it (1 and 5 cylinder) and I replaced them! A couple of months later engine light came on truck running rough took to mechanic the #5 pack failed and replaced under warranty now truck was fine until about 86,500 same thing again! This time was the #2 packs I told him just replace all remaining getting tired of this. So now all packs new and these are all top brand quality packs. So now truck has about 87 on it and same thing again! 2 packs went bad #2 and #4 replaced them and bought truck home (also replaced with new plugs) it sat for 3 days until this past Saturday which was June 6th I go to use it yesterday again truck running rough and engine light on again. Does anybody out there no whats causing this? Could the ignition control module be bad have anything to do with it? Or some other issue? This truck has been babied and everything is new! I am at the end with this truck! Any help would be appreciated! ~Nick in N.Y.

Hi,

Each coil pack has its own ignition module. So that isn't likely. One thing that comes to mind is a weak ground. Have they been checked? Take a look at pic 1 for locations.

Let me know,
Joe
