When you say reset the computer what are you referring to? Also, why are you trying to do this?

I replaced the ignition. Now it acts normal until you try to start it and then nothing. Everyone I talked to said the computer needs to be reset. I do not know.

You need to relearn the pass lock sensor. Try starting the car then let the key go back to the "run" position do not turn it back any further. When the security light stops flashing and or turns off most of the time it will turn off usually about ten minutes. Then repeat that two more times a total of three times it should start. Before you start make sure the battery is fully charged and that you have a good battery. Turn off all lights day time running radio AC fan etc. Let me know how it goes.

It's on and won't come off. Some times it takes a few minutes to come on. Yes I checked all the fuses. Do you know if you can bypass the pass lock 3? I've seen on YouTube where others have with different gm cars?

Hey Bjoenfinger,

Is sounds like the chip in the new key will need to be reset by the dealer. Anytime you put a new key a tumbler this will need to be done.

Please let us know what you find so it will help others.

Best, Ken

But what I keep reading it's a on going problem with Pontiac/gm. I'm not going keep towing it to the dealer. For security issues. I'm gonna try bypassing it this weekend if that doesn't work. I rather cut my losses. But I really appreciate all you help and suggestions tyvm

So why don't you have the new cylinder keyed to your old key so the car will start?
