Hi there. So it is as if my radio doesn’t realize that the engine is running. Sometimes it won’t turn on at all but when I do get it to turn on it only stays on for 30 minutes and then tells me that “command will shut down unless you start your engine “ or something to that effect and then every 30 minutes it shuts off until I turn it back on. Other time it turns on and off continuously until I turn off the car. When it is doing this or not turning on at all I usually disconnect the battery (negative terminal) for half a minute or so and then reconnect it and the radio turn on. Even still it will only stay on for half hour segments though. What could this be? I have checked all related fuses and they are all fine. Maybe a system update or something? I have no idea but I can’t stand driving without music! Haha please help!

Hello,

It sounds like you are having issues with the sounds command control. To be sure lets run a CAN scan to see what comes up. also I have included the radio wiring diagrams so you can see how the system works. You can get a CAN scanner from Amazon for about $40.00.

Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what you find. We are interested to see what it is.

Hi there. Thank you so much for the info! I definitely want to get my hands on that device from the video you sent. The one that is listed in the link attached to the video though is about $150 USD. Is the CAN scanner much different from an OBD || scanner? I want to make sure I get the right one. It sounds like this scanner could also fix my low beam problem from my previous question below. Thanks again, I will be sure to let you know how I make out :)

Yes the CAN scanner is the future of car repair and makes things much easier. Its works on most cars so you can scan your family and friends cars as well. Let me know after you have scanned your car. Can you please shoot a quick video with your phone so we can see what's going on, that would be great. You can upload it here with your response.
