Hello there! I recently bought a 2005 rav4 and am in the process of fixing a few things. I had the check engine codes checked out and this is what showed up:

P0012 cam pos a too retarded code stored
C1223 abs fault code stored B1653/55 seat belt codes stored

In your opinion, which of these should I get fixed first/ what is the serverity if these issues? I plan on getting everything fixed, but is it still driveable in the meantime? It drives great.

Thank you! Hannah

You should get them all fixed not just one. The p0012 is a variable valve timing problem which can be anything from the variable valve drive, a tad timing chain, ecm or oil control valve for the cam drive so this should be fixed before anything. It is something a scanner should be hooked up to. The abs code should be fixed as well because something is abnormal in the anti lock unit the last two that deal with seat may be the same problem for both codes. Unfortunately all these codes should be looked at by a pro because you are dealing with brakes and air bags as well as the cam has to be synched with the crank sensor which only a pro can do with a scanner.
