About a week ago, out of nowhere, while driving my vehicle sort of stalled but still stayed on, our transmission went out we thought.

We coasted to the nearest driveway, put it in park and checked the transmission fluid. Right level and not dirty. Waited about ten minutes, got back in and started it and it kicked into gear. Drove it maybe twenty five feet with it dying twice. Then realized the reverse did not work at all!

We borrowed a brand new diagnostics tester from a friend and it showed P0732. We looked it up and it said we needed to replace the output speed sensor. We did that today, and it still wont go into second gear or in reverse, no change? Next step?

If you have no second and reverse then the sun shell may have broken the gear which would not give any indication check fluid. It can also be low battery voltage and or solenoids. This should really be checked by a transmission specialist, however as with the age and mileage of car I would suspect the first thing I said.
