Engine light came on although the car seems to be running okay. I was told by a mechanic that it could be cooling system issue; thermostat, radiator leak, hose leak, cooling fan. There seems to be plenty of coolant in the reservoir, but the radiator is a bit low. Or it could be cooling fan relay connector or possibly flush cooling system and replace water pump.

What do you think?

P0483, cooling fan rationality check malfunction. It means that the cooling fan has been commanded to turn on or off, but the ECM did not detect a voltage change that indicated that the fan actually did turn on or off.

Test the cooling fan relay and its circuit. The usual suspect is a bad relay, but it could be the wiring to it.
