Car starts, runs okay, but when I put it in gear nothing happens. If I rev it high it creeps forward a little. Or reverse still only tries to move if I rev engine. Is the clutch, right? What are some possible errors?

You did not list the engine size or transmission type. A automatic transmission has clutch packs that can slip and cause the symptoms you described. The fix is to have it rebuilt. A worn clutch disc for a manual transmission can do this too. First you have to check for a problem with the clutch release system, but a worn disc is the best suspect.
