Clutch lost all compression overnight

The truck drove fine all day and I parked it for a few hours and when I came back to start it there was absolutely no compression on the clutch. Note; I did pack the cab with a bunch of boxes and belongings and it wasn’t in gear so the boxes were pushing against the shifter while it was in neutral.

If the clutch has no resistance, first, open the hood and check the clutch fluid in the clutch master cylinder reservoir. If it is empty, refill it and watch if you can locate a leak. Next, have a helper pump the clutch pedal to help you locate the leak.

Either the clutch master cylinder, slave cylinder, or a line is bad. You need to find the leak.

Here are the directions for replacing the clutch master cylinder. The attached pictures correlate with these directions.

MASTER CYLINDER REPLACEMENT
REMOVAL PROCEDURE

Push Rod

1. Remove the push rod from the clutch pedal.

2. Remove the master cylinder from the cowl panel.
- Rotate the master cylinder body 45° clockwise.
3. Raise and support the vehicle.

4. Using J 36221, remove the clutch line from the concentric slave cylinder to depress the white plastic sleeve on the quick connect coupling to separate the clutch line from the concentric slave cylinder.
5. Remove the master cylinder from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the master cylinder to the vehicle.
2. Install the clutch line into the concentric slave cylinder quick connect coupling.
3. Lower the vehicle.
4. Install the master cylinder to the cowl panel.
- Hold the master cylinder at a 45° angle.
- Rotate the master cylinder counterclockwise.
5. Secure the push rod to the clutch pedal.
6. Check the reservoir to ensure the oil level is at the full level. Use Delco Supreme 11 Brake Fluid or an equivalent.

If you find the slave cylinder is bad, here are the directions for replacement. This requires removal of the transmission.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the transmission.
2. Remove the clutch assembly.
3. Remove two bolts securing the concentric slave cylinder to the transmission and input shaft.
4. Remove the concentric slave cylinder from the input shaft.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install two bolts securing the concentric slave cylinder to the transmission and input shaft.
- Tighten Concentric slave cylinder bolts to 9 Nm (80 inch lbs.).
2. Install the clutch assembly.
3. Install the transmission.
4. Check the clutch system for normal operation.
