Need detailed instructions on how to remove clock spring on the vehicle listed above. I have seen for 2018 but apparently the multifunction switches are one piece; cannot remove each individually. Also having problems sourcing aftermarket switch and spring.

Hi,

This vehicle doesn't have a traditional clock spring. The clock spring for this vehicle is integral to the Steering Column Controls Module (SCCM). If any function of the clock spring is ineffective, or if the clock spring is damaged, the entire SCCM must be replaced.

If you look below, I attached the directions for replacing the SCCM.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

Hi, thank you very much for info. Could you also provide diagrams for air bag and steering wheel removal? I have a 2019 and air bag removal is different from 2018 from videos I have seen.

Hi,

No problem. If you look at the attached pics, the first eight are specific to the removal and replacement of the airbag. The last three pics are for removing the steering wheel.

Let me know if this helps.

Take care,

Joe

The wheel removal instructions do not mention a puller. Do you think it's just wiggling it out? I saw some YouTube videos and did not see any holes for puller. Instructions also say that you have to use a new nut? Would you know the torque spec on wheel nut?
Thanks

Hi,

I just read through the directions and like you, I feel they are extremely vague. As far as a puller, nothing is indicated and looking at the pictures, it doesn't appear to have the design for one.

If I recall, this will not just wiggle off. I had to use a wheel puller very some ingenuity to remove one approximately 2 years ago. I'm trying to remember what I did and can't recall what I used. Ugh! I'm getting old. LOL

By chance, do you see anywhere strong enough that would take the pressure for a puller? Also, I was able to track down the torque specs. I attached them below, and yes, the nut needs to be replaced.

Let me know.

Joe

Hi,

That is a good question. I had to take time to determine how my puller could be used. Normally on these, there are two 10mm threaded holes that you can place a threaded bolt into and then easily use a standard puller.
